AAA’s Insider Tips for Your Walt Disney World® Resort Vacation

AAA Mid States

There is a world, unlike any other world. Where magic kingdoms reign, smiles and laughter are endless, and the force remains strong. Walt Disney World® Resort is more than a just a vacation destination – it’s a complete experience.

Best Time to Visit

Disney World is magical all year long, however, the summer months are typically busiest at the theme parks. Schools are on summer break creating a better opportunity to travel without kids missing out on their curriculum, but also brings more crowds than you probably want. If your schedule allows, September is a great time to visit – the weather is still warm, prices may be a little cheaper, and if kids need to miss school, they shouldn’t be too far into their curriculum.

Dining Reservations

Some dining experiences, such as Be Our Guest Restaurant and Cinderella’s Royal Table, fill up weeks early, so if there is a particular restaurant you’re interested in experiencing, make reservations as soon as possible. Reservations can be made up to 180 days in advance. If you can’t preplan, try the restaurants around off-peak times, such as 11:30 a.m. for lunch or 3:30 p.m. for dinner.

Celebrate the Good Times

If you’re staying at a Disney Resort Hotel, stop by the front desk and request a celebratory button for whatever you’re celebrating (birthday, anniversary, honeymoon, or even your first visit to Disney World). You can also pick these up at Guest Relations if you are staying off-resort. You’ll feel extra special walking around the parks.

Character Experiences

Save a little time by booking Characters Meals. You’ll typically meet multiple characters at one time and you won’t have to wait in a long line.

Disney FastPass+

Disney FastPass+ service lets you reserve access to select attractions, entertainment, Character Greetings, and more in advance. For a greater range of options, it’s best to choose your Disney FastPass+ selections early. If you’re staying at a Disney Resort Hotel, you can begin making your selections up to 60 days before your visit date. If you’re staying off-resort, you can make your selections 30 days in advance.

Valid Theme Park admission and online reservations required. Disney FastPass+ attractions and experiences, the number of selections you make, and available windows are limited.
